Artificial intelligence marks a turning point as significant as the industrial revolution, and like every major turning point, its outcome depends on human choice. This teaching looks at AI as a neutral tool that can carry truth or lies, why the church must speak now rather than stay silent, and why truth and creativity are better suited to lead this moment than control and fear.
A Turning Point Like the Ones Before It
Every generation faces a moment when new technology reshapes how people live and relate. AI is that kind of turning point. The question is not whether it will change the world - it already is - but who gets to shape what it becomes.
A Neutral Tool, Same as Any Other
Scripture never treats a tool as good or evil in itself - a sword can defend or destroy. AI belongs in that category: neutral technology, capable of spreading truth or lies, depending entirely on the intent of the people directing it.
The Church Cannot Stay Silent
Silence does not keep a field neutral - it hands the field over to whoever is willing to speak. The church is called to be light exactly when staying quiet would be easiest.
A Choice Laid Side by Side
Rather than fixing one meaning for the acronym AI, it's more honest to lay two paths side by side: Absolute Deception, used to manipulate at unprecedented scale, or Absolute Illumination, used to spread truth at that same scale. Both are available. God has always given a genuine choice, never forced.
Truth and Creativity Versus Control and Lies
Systems built on control - communism, socialism, Marxism - treat truth as something to manage and release only as it serves power. A society built on truth and creativity approaches technology differently: as an instrument of discovery, not control. That is why America is positioned to lead this moment rather than cede it.
Anxious for Nothing
People are genuinely afraid of AI. Scripture doesn't dismiss that fear, but refuses to let it govern anyone who already knows how the story ends - truth wins, God wins.
A Foundation Already Laid
We don't face something new by starting from scratch - we're built on a foundation already laid by the apostles and prophets. Knowing that foundation means new claims about AI, or anything else, can be tested rather than simply absorbed.
For Such a Time as This
Esther didn't choose her placement, but she had to choose courage over fear when the moment arrived. This generation is placed at exactly the moment a defining new technology is being shaped, and the same challenge applies.
The Whole World, in an Instant
AI and the internet together give the whole world the ability to know something in an instant - a genuinely global, instantaneous channel that can be filled with deception or with truth at unprecedented scale. That is the choice laid before us, the same as with every turning point before it.
